About Gosorisul Liquor
Korea boasts three premium soju: Gaeseong Soju, Andong Soju, and Jeju Soju
Of the products, Jeju Soju is Gosorisul Liquor (distilled) made of millets, unlike other distilled soju on the market.
Rice was a rarity in Jeju because of a lack of rice fields; hence, Jeju produces liquor from millets instead of rice that provides excellent taste and aroma.
The word Gosori is a local direct of Sojutgori, referring to the pottery used for making soju. Gosori was first introduced to the region in 1273 when Tamra government division, a local government district of the Yuan Dynasty was established in Jeju Island after defeating Sambyeolchogun of the Goryo Dynasty. Since then, the spirit was recorded as one of the three typical soju in Korea.
